I have my fair share of RC vehicles at this point and have become pretty familiar with DEERC as a brand. To get straight to the point, the DEERC 1/18 Scale Off Road RC Truck has quickly stepped into the top place in my collection for the speed and fun factor alone. In typical fashion, it comes with everything you need to get going right out of the box except for the AA batteries for the controller: you get a brush, screwdriver, lug nut tool, a bag of spare screws and clips, a charger, and two batteries. When you remove the body and take a look at the chassis, you can see the metal parts in the suspension and drivetrain, though everything else is made of plastic, meaning repairing it if you run into any issues might be a bit of a challenge. The body features a common trophy truck style shell, and the remote uses a standard trigger throttle. It is worth paying attention to the remote because it includes a speed control dial. This lets you turn the speed down so that anyone new to RC can learn the controls without stressing over the velocity. I actually really like this feature myself because it also helps dial in appropriate speeds across different surfaces. As far as speed goes, this truck is genuinely fast. On pavement, it breaks traction with ease, and if you are used to drifting, you can easily use that to your advantage. Reverse 180s are made simple with that much speed, and pulling off donuts with the rear wheels spinning while the steering is locked in hard is effortless. On my lawn, it tackled the grass with ease, driving right through growth that exceeded its clearance without any noticeable change in performance. The addition of front and undercarriage lights also gives it a more premium feel than your average RC car.Overall, this thing is fast, a ton of fun to drive, and I highly recommend it.
