This is a completely different experience from the inexpensive remote-control cars that struggle on anything other than smooth pavement. The DEERC 9312E has a surprising amount of power for its size, and the four-wheel-drive setup makes it much more entertaining on uneven surfaces. The acceleration is probably what impressed me most. It picks up speed quickly, so you have to be a little careful with the throttle until you're familiar with how it handles. The advertised top speed is over 42 km/h, although I haven't independently measured its exact speed. It certainly feels quick for a 1/18-scale truck. The suspension does a decent job of absorbing smaller bumps, and the tires provide reasonable traction on dirt, short grass, and gravel. It performs better on uneven terrain than a basic two-wheel-drive RC car, although very tall grass and loose obstacles can still slow it down.I really appreciate that two rechargeable LiPo batteries are included. Being able to swap batteries instead of stopping completely when one runs out makes the truck much more enjoyable. Actual runtime depends on how aggressively you drive it, so I wouldn't assume you'll always get the maximum advertised operating time. The steering is responsive, but it takes a little practice to control the truck at higher speeds. Sharp turns while accelerating can cause it to roll, especially on surfaces with good traction. One thing worth mentioning is that this is fast enough to cause damage if driven carelessly. It's best used in an open area away from people, pets, and anything breakable. The LiPo batteries also need to be charged and stored according to the instructions. For a smaller RC truck, it's genuinely entertaining. The speed, four-wheel drive, and extra battery make it much more engaging than a basic toy-grade RC car.
