This 1:14 scale RC car is awesome! Great fun, VERY fast with top speed of up to 50kmph considering it comes with 7.4V 2S batteries. The car itself feels sturdy and well made, with metal drive train components including a geared differential and drive shafts. I accidentally crashed it a few times while playing with it, including jumping a speed hump in a carpark which sent the car rolling several times, and there was no notable damage aside from a few scratches. This RC car is well built and is unlikely to break the first time you have an accident. The car comes with some spares, including a full set of extra wheels and tyres, 2x spare body clips with straps, and a full set of wheel nuts. There’s also a set of spare front arms complete with knuckles, as they’re one of the most common components to damage as they take any direct hits from the front that miss the front bumper. The shocks are oil filled and made from aluminium. If you drop the car from 15-20cm it just plants itself without bouncing, which is pretty impressive. If you hit a jump, as long as the ramp angle is smooth enough to keep the car relatively horizontal, it just plants the landing and keeps on going, which is a lot of fun. This car comes with 2x 2S 7.4V nominal battery packs, which utilise a T shaped 2 prong plug which limits battery compatibility unless you’re able to crimp custom connectors. This is a little bit disappointing, as I was unable to find an available 3S battery pack with this connector type (the car is described as ready for 3S 11.1V nominal battery upgrade). This model appears to be a new release, so I’m hoping that the manufacturer will make 3S the battery and hold down clamp kit available in the near future. My car came ready to race straight out of the box, but I did find that I needed to add a bit of steering trim, and it preferred to turn left with more steering angle than to the right, so the steering will need an alignment. Aside from this, all it needed was a quick charge, 4x AA batteries for the remote, and it was ready to go! The car automatically pairs to the remote, just turn on the remote, hold down the red button on the car (located under the plastic body cover), and the lights will turn steady when paired.I tested this car on grass, gravel, dirt and a bitumen car park, and the car runs great all on surfaces. It's a lot of fun doing donuts, especially on dirt and gravel, as the knobby tyres make great rooster tails at full throttle. The remote features ST trim to set the steering angle at rest, ST D/R to set the maximum steering angle, and TH D/R which limits the maximum throttle. I really like this feature, as I’m able to dial down the throttle response for less confident drivers who want a turn. There are also buttons for the LED lights to cycle through RGB colour options which is fun.The car is a lot of fun, very fast, and has held up to several crashes without any damage, so I’m very happy with it. I was surprised that I was able to run the car for 15-20 minutes per battery, which is a lot of run time, especially for someone who grew up with the old nickel cadmium battery technology! This car is so much faster, much better built, has longer run time and faster charging than the RC cars I grew up with. If you’re looking to get into RC cars, this is the perfect one to start off with! The only issue I have had is the servo seems to return to centre slightly under throttle, in forward and reverse. I'm not getting the full lock turning circle, and can only make wide turns. This appears to be electronic/programmed rather than mechanical, and I haven't found a way to stop it from happening. None of the trim pots seem to affect the servo straightening the wheels slightly under throttle, and this is repeatable even with the car upside down and not under any driving forces (so it isn't a sign of a weak servo being overpowered by dynamic forces).
